Virtual visits
If you are unable or uncomfortable with making in-person medical visits, virtual urgent care visits can help you get the care you need. While some conditions will need in-person diagnosis, virtual urgent care visits can diagnose conditions, such as allergies, rashes, cuts and coughs.

What sets CareNow® telehealth providers apart?
Our CareNow® urgent care telehealth providers distinguish themselves by offering more than just a standard "doc in a box" experience. Unlike traditional telemedicine services that might lack personalization, our virtual visits are led by physicians working in the CareNow® clinics within your community. If you need to come in for additional testing or follow-up, one of our convenient locations is close by. Our telehealth providers prioritize patient-centered care, aiming to establish meaningful connections, even in the virtual setting.
Virtual visit lab testing services
Depending on your healthcare needs, your virtual visit provider may recommend that we see you in-person for an in-clinic lab test to verify your diagnosis. If you need to be seen in-person, we make it easy. Whether you need testing for strep, COVID-19, the flu or other health concerns, our clinics are equipped to offer convenient diagnostic testing that will deliver reliable results quickly, so you can start recovering as soon as possible.
Follow-up care after your virtual visit
CareNow® urgent care is affiliated with some of the largest, most comprehensive health systems across the country. That means no matter where you live, we make sure you’re connected to the closest emergency room (ER) or physician specialist if you need a follow-up visit, or a higher level of care.
Whether you need urgent medical attention, specialized treatment, or consultations with medical experts, our referral network ensures seamless access to the appropriate levels of care. Through our referral network, we make sure you receive personalized, high-quality care tailored to your specific needs.
How much does a virtual visit cost?
The cost of a virtual urgent care visit will vary based on your specific insurance plan. We also offer self-pay options, with a set price of $75 for a telehealth urgent care session.
For questions about insurance coverage or billing details related to your CareNow® virtual visit, please don't hesitate to contact your nearest CareNow® location. We're here to help you with any questions or concerns regarding your virtual care experience.
When is CareNow® virtual care not the right fit for my medical needs?
If you're experiencing a serious emergency or life-threatening condition, an urgent care virtual visit isn’t appropriate. For true emergencies, always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Telehealth urgent care appointments are best suited for injuries or illnesses that are not life-threatening, such as mild colds, allergies, rashes, or minor sprains. However, if your condition requires urgent intervention, or if you're unsure about the severity of your symptoms, it's always safer to err on the side of caution and seek in-person care immediately.
How should I prepare for my virtual visit?
Preparing for your virtual visit is essential to ensure a smooth and effective interaction with your healthcare provider. There are several steps you will need to follow.
- Device and browser compatibility: Download Google Chrome if you plan to use a desktop computer. However, all mobile browsers will work for your virtual visit.
- Ensure device readiness: Check your device's battery life to avoid interruptions during the visit. Close unnecessary programs to ensure reliable connectivity. Double-check your internet or mobile service signal strength for a stable connection.
- Set up for quality sound: Find a quiet space to minimize interruptions during the visit. Use earbuds with a microphone or a headset to facilitate clear communication between you and your provider.
- See and be seen: Ensure good lighting by using overhead lights and blocking glare from windows. If using a mobile device, position the camera at eye level to ensure your provider can see you.
- Dress appropriately: Wear appropriate clothing that allows easy access to areas of concern. For example, if the visit involves an issue with your arm, wear short sleeves.
- Decide if you need help: In instances where you may need to show hard-to-reach areas, consider having someone assist you by holding a flashlight or directing the camera for a thorough evaluation by your provider.
